Suriya will start work on his 25th silver jubilee film Singam in August, to be directed by Hari and produced by Gjanavel Raja of Studio Green. The film is likely to be the actor’s big summer April, 2010 release.
For Suriya and Hari it will be their hat trick film, after Aaru and Vel. According to Hari, it will be a mass action entertainer, in which Suriya will play the role of a cop. Suriya may put on weight to look like a TN cop, in a film where the action will fluctuate between city and village.
Anushka will be playing Suriya’s heroine in the film. The others in the cast are Prakash Raj, Nasser and Vivek. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of the film, while Priyan will be the cinematographer.
Singam, is a catchy title and it will be a mass entertainer, catering to the B & C audiences. It is a smart move by Suriya who is very strong in ‘A’ and ‘B’ stations to reach across to the smaller stations in Tamil Nadu
